Areas of ASEAN-Japan Cooperation

On the occasion of the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation held in Tokyo on 17 December 2023, the Joint Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and its Implementation Plan were adopted. The Implementation Plan, which serves to mainstream and further strengthen cooperation in the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), defines 130 cooperation items based on the three pillars mentioned in the Joint Statement. The number of cooperation items has increased by 55 items. In the chart below, you can find 44 main areas of ASEAN-Japan cooperation, organised by sector, for the 130 cooperation items described in the Implementation Plan.
