JENESYS 2.0: Youth exchange to Japan by Indonesian Islamic university students

    From 24 February to 4 March 2014, about 100 youths from universities established by Islamic organizations in Indonesia are visiting Japan as part of JENESYS 2.0 programme.


    During their visit, participants will have a first-hand experience with “Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields, and they will participate in various programmes that aim to deepen participants’ understanding of Japan. On 25 February participants will visit Tokyo and observe historical buildings in the city. Then they will be divided into three groups to visit Chiba, Osaka and Okayama prefectures. They will have an opportunity to experience Japanese city and countryside on various aspects and to experience modern and historical Japan by visiting a local government, a local company and historical sites; having a cultural experience as well as homestay and exchanging views at Japanese schools.


    In addition to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia’s Islamic communities, this programme is expected to enable youths and students studying at Islamic universities in Indonesia to deepen their understanding of and interest in Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to increase the level of interest in Japan by disseminating the information of their experiences after their return to their home country.
