Courtesy Visit of Ambassador Ishikane to Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Mr. Le Luong Minh to bid farewell

On 10 January, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN H.E. Mr. Kimihiro Ishikane called on the Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Mr. Le Luong Minh to bid farewell and held some talks for about thirty minutes. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Secretary-General and ASEAN Secretariat for their continued support and assistance in strengthening ASEAN- Japan relations. The Ambassador highlighted the vital importance of steady implementation of the outcomes of ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit held in Tokyo on 14th December 2014, and expressed Japan’s commitment to the continuing cooperation with ASEAN, which is essential for peace and prosperity of Japan. Secretary-General Minh thanked Ambassador Ishikane for his dedication to accelerating ASEAN-Japan relations during his term. The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation for an additional contribution of USD 100 million of Japan to Japan ASEAN Integration Fund 2.0 (JAIF 2.0), which Japan announced at the time of the Commemorative Summit, and showed his commitment for reinforcement of the cooperation between ASEAN and Japan.
