JENESYS 2.0: JAPAN-ASEAN-OCEANIAN STUDENTS & YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAMMENovember 28, 2013 The Japan-ASEAN-Oceanian Students & Youth Exchange will take place under the JENESYS 2.0 and about 360 junior high school students / high school students from ASEAN Member States, Australia, New Zealand and Timor Leste will visit Japan from 2nd to 10th December 2013. The participants will arrive in Tokyo area on 2nd December, then they will be divided into nine groups to visit Ibaraki, Chiba, Shizuoka, Wakayama, Hiroshima, Shimane, Yamaguchi, Kochi and Nagasaki prefecture. In order to have a firsthand experience with “the Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields, the participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of each prefecture on various aspects through visiting a local government, a local company and popular sights, having a cultural experience as well as having a meeting to exchange views with residents in the local area. Afterwards, they will take part in the JENESYS2.0 Japan-ASEAN-OCEANIAN Festival held in Tokyo area. In this festival, youths from 14 counties including Japan will perform their country’s traditional dance and engage in cultural exchange. This programme is expected to enable youths in ASEAN and Oceania region to deepen their understanding and interest to Japanese values including its strengths and attractions as well as to disseminate their experiences in Japan to their respective countries. |
