JENESYS 2.0 POP CULTURE PROGRAMMESeptember 27, 2013 Japanese Pop Culture is immensely popular among the youths across the globe, including ASEAN. It is widely regarded as one of the representative examples of “Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields. Pop Culture Programme will be implemented under the JENESYS 2.0 and about 180 university students from ASEAN Member States will visit Japan from 1st October to 9th October 2013. The participants are divided into three groups based on their interest, namely, those of animation, fashion and entertainment. Each group will visit several places which are very famous as Pop Cultural City in Tokyo, such as Akihabara, Harajuku, and Shibuya, followed by visits to Chubu area (Aichi), Kansai area (Kyoto, Osaka and Hyogo) or Kyusyu area (Fukuoka). The participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of Japanese Pop Culture on various aspects through visiting Pop Culture facilities and Japanese family/home in the local area, ant through meeting with university students in the local area to exchange views. This programme is expected to deepen understanding of and interest in Japan’s strengths and attractions. |
