JENESYS 2.0: Youth Sports Exchange (Baseball) (Philippines, Viet Nam)1 October 2014 From 29 September to 7 October, about 50 youths from the Philippines and Viet Nam are visiting Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Youth Sports Exchange (Baseball)” under JENESYS 2.0. Participants first visited Tokyo to undergo orientation and visit the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. They will then visit Osaka and Shiga Prefectures. In Osaka, they will go to the Hanshin Koshien Stadium and the Osaka Castle, and have interaction with Japanese high-school students through sports; meanwhile in Shiga, they will have homestay experience. On 5 October, they will participate in the “Baseball Class” organized by the Golden Players Club “Meikyukai” and exchanged views with Japan’s young baseball players. On 6 October, they will pay courtesy call to a government office. Through this exchange programme, the youths from the Philippines and Viet Nam are expected to deepen their understanding of and interest in Japan brand and Japanese values including Japan’s strengths and attractions, and to actively disseminate their experiences in their countries. |
