JENESYS 2.0: Social Community, 20th Batch (“Nursing & Medical Sciences, Youth Volunteer) (Brunei Darussalam)29 September 2014 From 25 September to 2 October, 25 students from Brunei Darussalam are visiting Japan under JENESYS 2.0. This programme aims to promote youth exchange between Japan and Brunei through Nursing and Medical Sciences and Youth Volunteerism on the event of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Participants first visited Tokyo to undergo orientation and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and advanced technology through observation to Asakusa, Harajuku, Odaiba and Panasonic Center. Then they were divided into two groups to visit Niigata and Iwate Prefecture where they had the opportunity to visit nursing and medical sciences- and volunteer-related facilities and to exchange views with Japanese students and local residents as well as to deepen their understanding of the lives of the Japanese people and of Japanese culture through homestay. Through this exchange programme, it is expected that the youths from Brunei deepen their understanding of and interest in Japanese attractions and values, and to actively disseminate their experiences in their country as well as the promotion of mutual understanding between youths from Brunei and Japan. |
