JENESYS 2.0: Youth marathon exchange

    From 15 to 23 September, 25 university students from the Philippines are visiting Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Youth marathon exchange” under JENESYS 2.0.


    Participants first visited Tokyo to observe the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences and to undertake training by marathon athletes at the Yumenoshima Stadium. Afterwards they will visit Yamanashi Prefecture to participate in joint training with local university students and to take part in a marathon race. Then they will visit Mt. Fuji and its surroundings. Participants will have the opportunity to feel the attractions of the region on various aspects through interactions with local residents including the local government and university, focusing on the programme theme, i.e. “Youth marathon exchange”.


    Through this exchange programme, the youths from the Philippines are expected to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to actively disseminate their experiences in their country.
