JENESYS 2.0 Social Community Youth Exchange, 16th Batch (“Disaster Management”) (Myanmar)

From 4 to 11 September, about 15 high-school students from Myanmar will visit Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Disaster Management” under JENESYS 2.0.
Participants will first visit Tokyo to observe Japan’s disaster management and urban development facilities as well as to do observation on Japanese culture. Then they will visit Kagoshima Prefecture to learn about the features of natural disaster in the region and tourism that makes use of disaster management efforts. They will also exchange views with local residents and have the opportunity to learn about Japan’s disaster management efforts on various aspects.
Through this exchange programme, the youths from Myanmar are expected to deepen their understanding of and interest in Japan’s strength in the field of disaster management and to actively disseminate their experience in their country.
