JENESYS 2.0 Social Community Youth Exchange, 15th Batch (“Tourism”) (Lao PDR, Myanmar)3 September 2014 From 3 to 10 September, about 40 university students from Lao PDR and Myanmar are visiting visit Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Tourism” under JENESYS 2.0. Participants will first visit Tokyo to visit a university renowned for its tourism major and one of Japan’s leading travel agencies to deepen their understanding of the concept of “Tourism”. Participants will also visit an advanced technology facility in Tokyo. Then they will be divided into 2 groups to visit Gifu and Akita Prefectures. In order to have first-hand experience of the highly acclaimed “Cool Japan”, participants will have the opportunity to feel the attractions of each region on various aspects through paying courtesy call to a local government, visiting popular sights, having cultural experience, and exchanging views with local residents. Through this exchange programme, the youths from Lao PDR and Myanmar are expected to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to actively disseminate their experiences in their countries. |
