JENESYS 2.0: Social Community 9th Batch (Young Volunteers) Youth Exchange Programme (Myanmar)

7 July 2014

From 2 to 10 July, 25 university students from Myanmar are visiting Japan on a programme on the theme of “Young Volunteers” under JENESYS 2.0.

Participants first visited Tokyo to exchange opinions with an organization that arranged volunteer programmes at the aftermath of Great East Japan Earthquake, as well as to observe Japanese culture and advanced technology facilities. Then they visited Iwate Prefecture—ground zero of the Great East Japan Earthquake—to exchange views with a volunteer organization in the area and with local residents.

This programme is expected to enable youths from Myanmar to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to disseminate their experiences in their country.
