JENESYS 2.0: Social Community 4th Batch (Law Studies) Students and Youth Exchange (Cambodia)

2 June 2014

From 27 May to 4 June, about 50 university and graduate school students from Cambodia are visiting Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Law Studies” under JENESYS 2.0.

Participants first visited Tokyo to exchange views with students at Waseda University and Hitotsubashi Universitiy; to observe legal system facilities such as “Hou Terrace” (Japan Legal Support Centre), the House of Councillors and Fuchu Prison; and to visit historical and cultural facilities and advanced technology facility in Tokyo. Then they were divided into two groups to visit Iwate and Nagano Prefectures. In order to have a first-hand experience with the “Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields, participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of each prefecture on various aspects through having cultural experience as well as exchanging views with local residents.

The programme is expected to enable youths from Cambodia to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, to disseminate their experiences in their country.
