JENESYS 2.0: History and Culture (9th Batch) Students and Youth Exchange28 May 2014 From 26 May to 3 June, 139 university students from the Philippines are visiting Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “History and Culture (History, Cultural Heritage, Traditional Culture)” under JENESYS 2.0. Participants will first visit Tokyo to observe the Edo Tokyo Museum, Meiji Shrine and Harajuku area. Then they will be divided into several groups to visit Fukushima, Nara, Okayama and Kyoto Prefectures. Participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of each prefecture on various aspects focusing on the theme “History and Culture (History, Cultural Heritage, Traditional Culture)” through visiting a local government and distinctive sights, experiencing homestay as well as exchanging views with local residents. This programme is expected to enable youths from the Philippines to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to disseminate their experiences in their country. |
