JENESYS 2.0 Japan-ASEAN-Oceania Youth Exchange Programme 2nd Batch26 May 2014 From 26 May to 3 June, about 370 students from ASEAN member states, Timor-Leste, Australia and New Zealand will visit Japan as part of a programme on the theme of “Festival” under JENESYS 2.0. Participants will first visit Tokyo on 28 May to observe an advanced technology facility, and then will be divided into nine groups to visit Yamagata, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Chiba, Shizuoka, Nagano, Shimane, Kochi and Kagoshima Prefectures. In order to have a first-hand experience with the “Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields, the participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of each prefecture on various aspects through visiting a local government, a local company, factory, environment facility and popular sights, having cultural experience as well as exchanging views with local residents. Then they will take part in the JENESYS 2.0 Japan-ASEAN-Oceanian Festival to be held in Tokyo, in which youths from 14 countries including Japan will perform traditional dances and have cultural exchange. This programme is expected to enable youths from ASEAN member states and Oceania region to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values including its strengths and attractions, and to disseminate their experiences in their countries. |
