JENESYS 2.0: Science and Technology 7th Batch (Robot Industry) Students & Youth Exchange Programme (Cambodia, Singapore, New Zealand)13 March 2014 From 10 March to 18 March, about 70 university students from Cambodia, Singapore, and New Zealand are visiting Japan as part of programme on the theme of “Science and Technology (Robot Industry)” under JENESYS 2.0. Participants first visited Tokyo to observe infrastructure facilities and universities specialised in robotic studies. Then they were divided into three groups to visit Yamagata, Kyoto and Shiga Prefectures or Okayama and Kagawa Prefectures. In order to have a first-hand experience with the “Cool Japan” that is highly acclaimed and attracting a large attention in many fields, the participants will have an opportunity to feel the attractions of each prefecture on various aspects through visiting a local government, a local company and popular sights, having cultural experience as well as exchanging views with local residents. This programme is expected to enable youths from Cambodia, Singapore, and New Zealand to deepen their understanding of and interest in “Japan brand” and Japanese values, which include its strengths and attractions, and to disseminate their experiences to their respective countries. |
