ASEAN Food Festival

On 15 August, ASEAN Women’s Circle (AWC) hosted the ASEAN Food Festival at the ASEAN Secretariat. This event is held every year and the theme of this year’s event was “Celebrating the ASEAN Community”. It featured various dishes from 18 countries and region; namely 10 ASEAN Member States, Japan, Australia, Canada, the EU, India, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia and the United States. The Festival attracted many visitors from embassies, permanent missions of ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Dialogue Partners, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Japan’s booth featured, with the help of Mr. Masato Tsuki, Chef for Ambassador Kazuo Sunaga, Japanese cuisine commonly served for celebrations: Tai-gohan (rice with minced sea bream). The booth attracted many visitors who were eager to sample it.

The Festival was a charity event and all proceeds will be donated to selected foundations.
