Cyber SEA Game 2015

The first ASEAN Cyber Security Competition “Cyber SEA Game 2015 (Cyber South East Asian Game 2015)” was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 11 and 12 November. Fourteen teams of young people under thirty years old from nine ASEAN countries made it to this final stage after having competed in the national selection processes in their respective countries. The ASEAN Cyber Security Competition was proposed by the Indonesia Security Incident Response Team on Internet Infrastructure/Coordination Centre (Id-SIRTII/CC) under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, supported by ASEAN Japan Integration Fund (JAIF), ASEAN Secretariat and Japan Network Security Association.


The awarding ceremony of the competition was held on 12 November on the occasion of Indonesia’s 5th National Information Security Day. Mr. Benyamin Sura, Director of Telecommunication Business, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Ms Yukiko Okano, Minister-Counsellor, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, gave awards to winning teams, with the attendance of officials of ASEAN Member States including Indonesia and Myanmar and ASEAN Secretariat. The first prize was awarded to the team from Viet Nam, the second to that from Thailand, while awards for the third and fourth prizes went to the Philippine and Indonesian teams respectively. The teams from Viet Nam and Thailand were given the right to participate in SECCON CTF 2015 Finals in Japan, as well as flight tickets to Japan.
