“Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity Implementation” Project by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF)




On April 25, 2012, the Government of Japan decided to provide the technical assistance named “Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity Implementation” through Asia Development Bank (ADB). “Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF)”, which is a financial contribution from Japan to ASEAN, will be used for this technical assistance.


Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC), which was adopted in the 17th ASEAN Summit, October, 2010, identifies key strategies and actions including infrastructure development to enhance connectivity of the ASEAN region for establishment of the ASEAN Community by 2015. To realize the projects in MPAC, a wider partnership among various stakeholders is required.


“Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity implementation” project extends technical assistance regarding consensus building needed for implementation of MPAC implementation, among ASEAN member states, development partners as well as private sector. This technical assistance is expected to contribute to progress of MPAC and ASEAN Community.
