The 5th AHA Centre ICT Review Meeting

    On 9 and 10 February 2012, the 5th ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management(AHA) Centre Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Review Meeting was held at the AHA Centre in Jakarta. On behalf of the Government of Japan, Mr. Youichi Iida, Director for International Policy Coordination, Global ICT Strategy Bureau, Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ms. Takako Ito, Minister-Counsellor of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN as well as other delegates attended the meeting.

    At the Review meeting, the on-going progress of the ICT Projects under AHA Centre was reported. The ASEAN side explained about the ICT equipments that have been installed at the Centre with the assistance from Japan, and expressed their appreciation for Japan’s continued support on this matter. The Review meeting also discussed the ICT related functions in AHA Centre as well as workshops to be held in order to enhance the ICT capacity of the Centre and ASEAN Member States in the field of disaster management .
