ASEAN Law Forum 2026

ASEAN Law Forum 2026 -Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Law-making and Law implementation in the Digital Era- was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 18-19 August 2026, as part of the initiative of ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM).
The Ministry of Justice of Vietnam chaired the Forum in cooperation with the EU, ERIA (Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia), UNDP, and UNICEF. Following the welcome remarks by the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam and the special address by the Minister of Justice of Vietnam, participants from governments and private sectors shared experiences and challenges in using AI in the legal and judicial fields.
The delegation of International Affairs Division, Minister's Secretariat, Ministry of Justice of Japan attended in person, and a prominent attorney-at-law specialized in international arbitration moderated a panel-discussion. This session is regarded as implementation of “ASEAN-Japan Work Plan on Law and Justice” and its outcome will be reported to the 5th ASLOM-Japan Consultation this year.
