The 2nd ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry Meeting, and The 25th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three

On 2 October 2025, H.E. KOIZUMI Shinjiro, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, joined the 25th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (Japan - China - Republic of Korea), which was held in Manila, the Philippines. In the meeting, “The ASEAN Plus three Cooperation Strategy in Food Agriculture and Forestry 2026-2035" was adopted.
Minister KOIZUMI also joined the beginning part of 2nd ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry Meeting, which was held back-to-back. In the meeting, the revised “ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan (summary, contents)" was adopted which promotes decarbonization and digitalization of Agriculture and forestry. The revised Plan was recognized to support the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan 2026–2030, and the Food, Agriculture and Forestry Sectoral Plan (FAF-SP) 2026–2030, thereby ensuring coherence and alignment with ASEAN’s long-term priorities.
