On July 2nd, during an open session held on the occasion of the 19th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Health Development (SOMHD) to discuss cooperation with development partners, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN participated online and provided an explanation regarding support in the health sector. The Mission explained that Japan has supported the formulation of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan, adopted during the ASEAN Summit this May, utilizing the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) since last year. Additionally, the Mission explained that in line with this plan, it is considering support for various initiatives that address aging and public health issues. Following the explanation by the Mission, JICA also provided an overview of their various support initiatives.
