The 16th Dialogue between the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the Federation of Japanese Chambers of Commerce and Industry in ASEAN (FJCCIA)

On July 16, the 16th Dialogue between the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the Federation of Japan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FJCCIA) was held at the ASEAN Headquarters/Secretariat in Jakarta, attended by Mr. Takero Sawamura, Chairman of the FJCCIA, and Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN.
Promotion of cooperation between Japan and ASEAN was discussed, toward the realization of the "ASEAN-Japan Economic Co-Creation Vision," which was formulated last year on the Japan-ASEAN 50th anniversary.
The FJCCIA explained the " FJCCIA’s Requests and Proposals from Japanese Businesses within ASEAN (2024)", which summarizes the requests of Japanese companies in the ASEAN region with the aim of making ASEAN an even more attractive business development destination for Japanese companies.
Secretary-General Kao expressed his expectation to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and Japan companies to further investment, promote cooperation in the digital field, achieve carbon neutrality, and strengthen supply chains.
Ambassador Kiya attended from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN and delivered a guest remarks, stating that cooperation between ASEAN and Japanese industries is essential for promoting green transformation (GX) and digital transformation (DX).
