Opening Ceremony of the AHA Centre Executive Leadership in Emergency and Disaster Management for ASEAN Programme (ACE LEDMP)

On 4 October, Opening Ceremony of the AHA Centre Executive Leadership in Emergency and Disaster Management for ASEAN Programme (ACE LEDMP) was held and Ambassador Kiya, together with H.E. Ekkaphab Phanthavong, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community and Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre, attended the ceremony and delivered his opening remarks. This programme has been supported by the ASEAN-Japan Integration Fund (JAIF) since 2014, with the total of 118 participants as of today.
Training course this time is designed to provide a two-month training in Jakarta on disaster management, emergency response and leadership among others, followed by the study visit to Japan, for 20 officials from National Disaster Management Organizations (NDMOs) in ASEAN Member States who have already completed an online training course.
It is expected that this training course will not only strengthen the capacity of the officials from each disaster management organization, but will also help networking among them and encourage the ASEAN Member States to work together in responding disasters inside and outside of the region in the future.
