ASEAN-Japan Centre’s Commemorative Event for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation (Attendance by Ambassador KIYA)

On 20 and 21 June, the ASEAN-Japan Centre hosted "Japan-ASEAN Business and Investment Forum: Road to ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum", a hybrid event to commemorate the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation (50th Anniversary), held in Jakarta, and Ambassador KIYA attended the event, delivering opening remarks.
During the event, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hong, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and H.E. Mr. Heri Akhmadi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan made speeches, and the ASEAN Secretariat presented the progress of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025, and CLOMA (Japan Clean Ocean Material Alliance) presented the progress of the marine plastic litter reduction project funded by JAIF (Japan ASEAN Integration Fund), followed by a business-matching event by participants from Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador KIYA expressed that the network established through this event will lead to concrete results at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum, one of the flagship events of Indonesia, the ASEAN chair this year, and the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit to be held in December.
