Introducing Miso Recipes and Tasting

On 11 May, Spouses of Heads of Mission, approximately 25 people, gathered at the Ambassador’s residence to participate in the event, “Introducing Miso Recipes and Tasting,” hosted by Mrs. CHIBA Yuko, spouse of Ambassador CHIBA Akira.
 
Mr. Morita, the Residence Chef, demonstrated how to cook “Sautéd eggplant and bell pepper with miso,” which is one of the easiest homemade meals using miso. Then Mrs. Chiba demonstrated some home-cooking miso recipes, such as “Miso and mayonnaise dip for vegetable sticks,” “Cauliflower gratin with miso,” and “Grilled miso chicken,” followed by a tasting session. Since miso can be paired with mayonnaise or wine, it matches well with other dishes. It was a good opportunity for participants to learn a various kind of easy recipes and enjoy the taste of Japanese meals with miso.
