The 2nd Lecture and Demonstration of Japanese cuisine at ASEAN Secretariat

On December 13, 2018, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN held the 2nd event of lecture and demonstration of Japanese cuisine at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, focusing on “Japanese tea” and cuisine using tea, as a commemorative event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

Following the opening remarks delivered by H.E. Mr. Kazuo Sunaga, Ambassador of  Japan to ASEAN, and those by other designated guests, Mr. Masato Tsuki, the chef of Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, provided a lecture and demonstration about Japanese tea. At that event, demonstrated foods were provided to participants for their tasting, in cooperation with Mr. Naotaka Tokuhisa, Japanese chef of Restaurant Nishimura at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta, and Japanese companies and agents producing and importing products using Japanese tea.

Approximately 150 guests, including H.E. Tran Duc Binh, the Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to ASEAN, as the country coordinator for Japan, H.E. AKP Mochtan, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, and H.E. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Political-Security Community, participated in the event. Also, Ms. Melody Nurramdhani Laksani, who was nominated as the Japan-ASEAN Goodwill Ambassador on Food and Agriculture by the Japanese Government this year, took part in and brought excitement to the event.
