Symposium on the 45th Anniversary of Japan-ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation

On 4 April 2018, Symposium on the 45th Anniversary of Japan-ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation was held at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in Jakarta under the theme of “ASEAN and the Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy”.
 
Dr. Yuichi Hosoya, Professor of International Politics, Faculty of Law, Keio University of Japan, and Dr. Dewi Fortuna Anwar, Senior Researcher of Research Center for Politics – LIPI, made a Keynote Speech respectively. The symposium also had three speeches by Dr. Julia Luong Dinh, Senior Researcher of Centre for Major Power Studies, Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Dr. Tang Siew Mun, Head of ASEAN Studies Centre, The Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) of Singapore, and Q&A between five speakers including keynote speakers and the audience.
 
More than 200 guests including diplomats in Jakarta, officials from the government of Indonesia and researchers participated in the symposium.
