H.E. Ambassador Kazuo Sunaga made a speech at “The 3rd ASEAN Marketing Summit 2017”

On 7 September 2017, Ambassador Kazuo Sunaga made a speech at “The 3rd ASEAN Marketing Summit 2017” organized by the Mark Plus and the Philip Kotler Center for ASEAN Marketing in Jakarta. Over 500 business persons attended the event.
Ambassador Sunaga outlined that Japan supports the “ASEAN Vision 2025” based on the “Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation”.
Additionally, Ambassador Sunaga introduced five examples of cooperation:
- Strengthening ASEAN connectivity through developing infrastructure funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA);
- Disaster prevention;
- “JENESYS”, a people-to-people exchange program between Japan and ASEAN for youths;
- “AUN/SEED-Net”, which promotes human resource development in engineering for sustainable socio-economic development of the ASEAN region; and
- Capacity Building Assistance by the Japan Ministry of Defense and the Japan Self –Defense Forces.
Participants had the opportunity to gain a better understanding about Japan-ASEAN cooperation.
