Ambassador Kiya attends the ASEAN Hydrographic Survey Workshop

On 13 September, Ambassador Kiya attends the ASEAN Hydrographic Survey Workshop held in Jakarta under the auspices of the Ministry of Transportation Republic of Indonesia, as part of the Joint Hydrographic Survey of the Straits Malacca and Singapore, which is supported by JAIF.
During the workshop, results of the survey were shared with stakeholders from ASEAN Member States and related industries, and participants expressed their appreciation for the Japan’s support provided through the JAIF.
In the opening remarks, Ambassador Kiya stated that ensuring the safety of navigation in the straits is essential for prosperity in ASEAN and Indo-Pacific region including Japan, and that the workshop will substantially contribute to it and also to the implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) which ASEAN endorsed, in the field of maritime cooperation and connectivity as priority areas.
