Lecture: Deepening AOIP Cooperation for the Epicentrum of Growth: Commemorating the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation

On 19 September, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, co-hosted with INDEF (Institute For Development of Economics and Finance) and Paramadina University, held a lecture entitled "Deepening AOIP Cooperation for the Epicentrum of Growth: Commemorating the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation".
Mr. Tanaka Hideyuki (Chair, Sub Committee on ASEAN Economic Relations, Keidanren (Japan Business Federation)) from Japan was invited to give a lecture on deepening economic cooperation between ASEAN and Japan.
(Summary of the lecture)
- Keidanren has been deepening economic diplomacy with ASEAN in a multilayered way, and Japan and ASEAN are inseparable partners bound by strong ties.
- In the international situation and the international order are shifting, each country should strive to restore the circle of solidarity. For this purpose, it is necessary to be aware of the importance of "Japan's history, experience, and position can be shared with the Global South" and "Based on the premise of a multipolar world, it is important to share the "attitude of creating the society we should aim for together".
- Japan's strengths can meet the ASEAN's needs in many areas as it aims to realize Aiming to realize "safe, secure, and trustworthy society" and "solid economic development" of ASEAN countries. Japan and ASEAN will deepen co-creation on themes such as "Building hard and soft social infrastructure", "Realization of sustainable growth", "Using digital technology and develop new growth areas" and "HR development and promoting personnel exchanges".
